Strata Documentation: Deployment

Early Access Pricing — Ends 31 December

Strata is available at a special launch price of US$25 during December 2025. The standard price will be US$75.

How To Add Strata Track To Lots Of Tracks In Your DAW Project Rapidly

Once you've got past the stage of experimenting with Strata to learn how to use it, you'll inevitably find yourself in the situation where you have a project with (say) 100 tracks and you want to deploy Strata in the project. Adding a new track to hold Strata Vision is quick and easy, but adding Strata Track to the end of the plugin chain of each track in your project can be tedious and time consuming. The purpose of this page is to inform you of the fastest way to deploy Strata Track on large numbers of tracks in each of the supported DAWs.

One important thing to note is that it's perfectly acceptable to deploy an instance of Strata Track and then Copy the instance and Paste it into another track. With some plugins, this might cause confusion, but Strata has been specifically engineered to handle this case gracefully. So feel free to copy and paste away in order to deploy Strata Track in your DAW project.

Deploying Strata Vision

To deploy Strata Vision, just create a new dedicated track for it. It can be a MIDI track or an instrument track. Then add a new instance of Strata Vision to the track's plugin chain. As you only have to do this once, it doesn't much matter how long it takes (within reason), so just do whatever you normally do to add a plugin to the plugin chain of a track in your project.

It's best to put Strata Vision on its own track so that it doesn't impact your signal chains. I've even programmed Strata Vision to complain if it finds that it has been added to the Master (or Main) track!

The rest of this page describes how to deploy Strata Track, on lots of DAW project tracks, in each supported DAW.

Ableton Live

I have done some experiments in Ableton Live and have discovered the following:

  • If you copy an instance of Strata Track and then click on another track and paste, nothing happens.
  • If you copy an instance of Strata Track and then double click on another track and paste, it creates a copy of the Strata Track instance at the START of the track's plugin chain (where we don't want it).
  • If you select Strata Track from the plugins section on the left and drag-and-drop it to a track, it creates a new instance of Strata Track at the END of the track (where we want it).

So I've arrived at the following recommended method for Ableton:

  1. In the pane at the top left, search for "Strata Track" until the plugin appears in the results pane below.
  2. Drag and drop Strata Track from the plugin pane to a track.
  3. Repeat the drag-and-drop for each track onto which you wish to deploy Strata Track.

On 24 May 2025, I (Ross Williams) did a test where I measured how long it took me to deploy Strata Track in Ableton onto ten different tracks by dragging and dropping Strata Track from the plugin pane on the left to each of the ten tracks. It took me 39 seconds (very close to the FL Studio time - see below). That's about four seconds per track. That's less than three minutes to deploy Strata Track in a typical 30-track project.)

The only annoying thing is that when you drag and drop, it opens Strata Track's window and you will have to close (or move) it or it will get in the way so you can drag and drop again.

Bitwig Studio

Deploying Strata Track in Bitwig Studio is quick and easy:

  1. Put Strata Track onto one track and select it and copy it with Command-V.
  2. Now press Downarrow then Paste and repeat and you will add Strata Track to the end of each track's plugin chain. It's very fast.

I tested this method for deploying Strata Track on ten tracks and it took 21 seconds (including creating the first instance). So that's about two seconds per track to deploy Strata Track in Bitwig.

FL Studio

I couldn't figure out how to deploy Strata Track on several tracks quickly in FL Studio, so we contacted Image Line support and they were very helpful and informed us (on 30 Dec 2024) of the following technique, which works well:

  1. Open the mixer view. That's the one with all the vertical slider volume controls.
  2. Pick any track and put Strata Track on the track (in the way you usually add a plugin to a track).
  3. Now this is a little tricky, but it DOES work. Do the next steps EXACTLY.
  4. RIGHT CLICK on the instance of Strata Track on the track you put it on AND RELEASE THE MOUSE. A menu should pop up.
  5. MOVE THE MOUSE into the menu until it is OVER the entry "Save preset as...", but DON'T CLICK on the entry!
  6. Now CLICK on the "Save preset as..." AND DRAG to another track. (Don't release the mouse before you drag).
  7. You should now have a copy of Strata Track on the second track.

This technique might feel a little counterintuitive with the clicking, but it does work, and if you practice a little, you could get fast.I (Ross Williams) did a test (on 24 May 2025) where I measured how long it took me to do ten such Strata Track deployments. It took 38 seconds. So that's about four seconds per track. My test was with almost no practice, so experienced FL Studio and Strata users should be able to get it down to two seconds. In any case, even at four seconds per track, that's less than three minutes to deploy Strata Track in a typical 30-track project.

Logic Pro

There are several ways to add Strata Track to every track in Logic.

The best most intuitive method that I have found is:

  1. Top menu View > Show Mixer to show the mixer view.
  2. Put Strata Track on any track.
  3. Option-Drag the instance of Strata Track to any effect slot on any other track. Repeat. This is very fast!

Here's another method I discovered:

  1. Top menu View > Show Mixer to show the mixer view.
  2. Select a bunch of tracks.
  3. Add Strata Track on any track. It will appear in the same slot in all the other tracks.

This second method suffers from the problem that some of the other tracks might already have something in the slot into which you deploy Strata Track. This is why I like the Option-Drag method better.

Reaper

  1. Choose any track and click on FX on the track.
  2. Add Strata Track to the plugin chain of the track.
  3. Drag-and-Drop Strata Track to any other track. A copy will be added to the end of the track's plugin chain.
  4. Repeat for each track.

Overall, this is pretty fast. The only annoying thing is that when you drag and drop, it opens Strata Track's window and you will have to close (or move) it or it will get in the way.

Cubase

I have not yet developed a fast-deployment method for Cubase. If you know how, please let me know.

Studio One

I have not yet developed a fast-deployment method for Studio One. If you know how, please let me know.

A Final Word

If you find yourself using Strata in all your projects, one way to avoid deployment altogether is to add Strata Track to your Default Plugin Chain setting in your DAW, if it has one. Then, whenever you create a new track, Strata Track will already be there.
